The Dutch Star is a popular Class A Diesel motorhome known for its high-quality construction and luxurious amenities, such as full-size kitchens, spacious living areas and comfortable sleeping quarters. The Newmar Dutch Star is a popular choice among RV enthusiasts who value comfort, style and performance.

The 2024 Dutch Star lineup is available in a variety of floor plans and sizes. While there are no new floor plans for 2024, it’s important to note that the Dutch Star 3709 and 4328 floor plans have been discontinued. The two remaining 37-foot models have also been lengthened by one foot. The 2024 Dutch Star coaches sport refreshed exterior designs available in four new color combinations.

2024 Dutch Star Floor Plan Upgrades

  • The 3717 floor plan has been upgraded to the 3817 model. An additional 12 inches have been added to the kitchen and pantry as well as the bathroom and dining area.
  • The 3736 floor plan is now the 3836 model in 2024. An additional 12 inches was assigned to the master bedroom, which now features a king-size bed instead of a queen.
  • The 3836, 4310 and 4326 floor plans have a newly redesigned bathroom with a 50” X 30” shower.
  • The 4311 floor plan contains a fireplace with a TV on a power lift behind the passenger seat.

    Air Conditioning and Heating

    • A third air conditioning unit comes standard in the 2024 40-foot models.
    • These models will continue to provide an 8 kW generator, so the third A/C unit will only operate when the coach is plugged into an 50 amp electrical service.

    Chassis Features

    • The 38-foot Dutch Star models’ wheelbases are an extra foot longer for 2024, which opens up a full pass-through storage compartment.
    • The chassis used on 38-foot floor plans will have a 17,000 lb. GAWR.
    • The shock absorbers used on the Spartan chassis will now be Koni brand instead of Bilstein.

    Electrical Features

    • The charging port in the dash area provides both USB and USB-C connections.
    • The Oasis heating and hot water system can be controlled through the 10.1” KIB screen. This access will eliminate the dedicated Oasis controls in the front overhead.
    • The all-electric option is a standard feature for the 2024 Dutch Star models.
    • The in-dash Xite monitors will be housed under a single piece of glass. The two separate monitors provide a sleeker, cleaner appearance.

    Exterior Features

    • The 2024 Dutch Star motorhomes sport new exterior designs in four color combinations.

    Interior Features

    • The Alora and Bayshore interior designs are available for 2024.
    • Two new designs, Stratton and Catalina, are replacing the Camelot and Dali designs offered previously.
    • A matte floor tile replaces the Lapotto tile introduced in 2023.
    • A new material has been selected for the furniture fabric.

    Dutch Star Option Changes

    • The Winegard Trav’ler satellite dish will provide an automatic stow feature. The dish will automatically stow whenever the parking brake is released.
    • The option for ottomans has been discontinued for 2024.
    • A second inverter has been added to the option for the lithium ion battery system. The inverter will run the front air conditioner without being connected to shore power or running the generator.
    • There is now an option to add a third lithium battery (960 total AHR).
    • A remote reset switch for the lithium battery system has been added in the overhead cabinet, allowing you to reset the battery system from inside the coach.
    • The option for recliners has been eliminated on the 3817 and 3836 floor plans.
    • The option for theater seating is still available in the 2024 Dutch Star models.

    2024 Newmar Canyon Star RV Tour with Angie Morell

    The Newmar Canyon Star 3947 and 3957 models will be carried over for the 2024 model year. However, the 3737 floor plan is not available in the 2024 Canyon Star lineup.

    There are no new floor plans in the 2024 Newmar Canyon Star lineup.

    Chassis Features

    • A new steering column with a telescoping steering wheel has been added.
    • Freightliner’s Optiview glass dash replaced the instrumentation previously offered.
    • The transmission shifter pad has been replaced with controls located on the stalk next to the steering wheel, similar in location to other Freightliner chassis.
    • The brake exhaust and wiper switch controls have been relocated from the dash to the steering column. The headlight control switch on the Freightliner front engine diesel chassis features a new style.

    Electrical Features

    • The charging port in the dash area provides USB and USB-C connections.

    Exterior Features

    • The 2024 Canyon Star models have new exterior graphic designs in three color combinations.
    • There was a running change to replace the baggage seals to match that of the Dutch Star (no more slamming).

    Interior Features

    • A new interior decor option called Excelsior will replace the Moab decor offered in 2023.
    • The Bellona and Hyannis decor packages are carried over for the 2024 model year. The decor names for these two offerings, however, have been changed to Sherbrooke and Capilano since the vinyl tile flooring designs have changed.
    • The driver console has been redesigned due to the transmission shifter pad being eliminated.

    Plumbing and Bath Fixtures

    • The 40″ X 30″ showers in both Canyon Star floor plans will offer new fiberglass designs.
    • Due to the change in fiberglass shower design, the shower door has also been changed to the style used in other Newmar brands.

    Canyon Star Option Changes

    • A new vinyl plank flooring material will be offered to coordinate with the Glacier woodgrain.
    • The optional Winegard Trav’ler satellite dish will provide an automatic stow feature. The dish will automatically stow whenever the parking brake is released.
    • The option for 2-13.5 BTU air conditioners, 8.0 kW generator, and EMS (option #H140) is a standard feature for the 2024 model year.

    The following options are no longer available in the Canyon Star brand for 2024:

    • Ottomans
    • Whirlpool 11 cu ft stainless residential refrigerator with inverter (option #J205)
    • Bunks with lift in garage (option #K063). The option for sleeping accommodations (with bench seating) in the garage area remains available.

    2024 Newmar Bay Star RV Tour with Angie Morell

    The Bay Star 3014, 3225, 3626, 3629 and 3811 floor plans have been retained for the 2024 model year. However, several Newmar Bay Star floor plans that were offered in 2023 have been discontinued for the 2024 model year, including the 3020, 3124, 3401, 3408, 3609 and 3616.

    Additionally, there are 3 new floor plans for 2024:

    Bay Star 3116

    • The Bay Star 3116 floor plan provides a full wall slide on the off-door side with a bed slide in the bedroom on the door side.
    • The front living area features a 74” Visionary tri-fold sofa on the door side, with a fixed dinette booth on the off-door side.
    • The roomy kitchen is located on the off-door side rear of the sofa. The kitchen features a pantry as well as storage across the hall.
    • The bathroom is located mid-ship and features a spacious vanity with plenty of counter space, linen storage and a 40” X 30” shower.
    • The bedroom features a king-size bed across from a large wardrobe, dresser and TV.

    Bay Star 3423

    • The Bay Star 3423 floor plan is a triple slide model offering a large bathroom mid-ship and a king-size bed in the bedroom.
    • The front area features a dinette located in a slide out on the door side with a 74” Visionary tri-fold sofa on the off-door side.
    • The large galley is positioned on the same slide as the sofa and features a pantry rear of the refrigerator. There is additional pantry storage across from the kitchen along the bath wall.
    • The bathroom is located mid-ship and features a spacious vanity with plenty of counter space, linen storage and a 40” X 30” shower.
    • The bedroom features a large wardrobe with the room to accommodate an optional two-piece washer and dryer.
    • There is an additional wardrobe with drawers and a TV across from the foot of the king-size bed, which inclines when the slides are retracted.

    Bay Star 3618

    • The Bay Star 3618 floor plan is a triple slide model with a full wall slide on the off-door side and a walk-in closet at the far rear of the coach.
    • The front area features a dinette located in a slide out on the door side with a 74” Visionary tri-fold sofa in the large slide on the off-door side.
    • The large galley is positioned on the same slide as the sofa and features a pantry rear of the refrigerator. There is additional pantry storage across from the kitchen along the bath wall.
    • The bathroom is located mid-ship and features a spacious vanity with plenty of counter space, linen storage and a 40” X 30” shower.
    • The bedroom features a king-size bed across from a large wardrobe, dresser and TV.
    • The walk-in closet immediately behind the bedroom offers lots of hanging space, a wardrobe with drawers, adjustable shelves and a second wardrobe that can accommodate an optional two-piece washer and dryer.

    Chassis Features

    • The Ford chassis used in 2024 Bay Star models will provide Ford Motor Company’s Driver Assistance Package as a standard feature. This includes the following features:
      • Forward collision mitigation system
      • Automatic high beams
      • Automatic emergency braking
      • Distance indication and alert
      • Post-impact braking
      • Lane departure warning system (uses a Ford camera system and is mounted on the windshield)
      • Driver alert system and message center

    Electrical Features

    • The charging port in the dash area provides USB and USB-C connections.

    Exterior Features

    • The 2024 Bay Star collection has a new exterior graphic design in three color combinations.
    • There was a running change to replace the baggage seals to match the Dutch Star, resulting in no more slamming.

    Interior Features

    • The Burma interior is still available for 2024.
    • The Axis and Colusa interior designs have been replaced with two new options: Townsend and Rimini.
    • The monitor panel is located in a new and more accessible location on the kitchen base of the 3811 floor plan.

    Bay Star Option Changes

    • A new vinyl plank flooring material will be offered with the Glacier woodgrain.
    • The option for ottomans has been dropped for 2024.
    • The recliner option has been dropped from the 3626 floor plan as this option would not allow for the drop down bunk option available.
    • The option for an additional 1200 watt inverter for the bedroom (option #L285) will no longer be available for 2024.
    • For the 3811 wheelchair accessible model, the over cab bunk will include a Comfort Lounge sofa and the fireplace cabinet with a TV behind the passenger seat.
    • The 2024 Bay Star 3811 wheelchair accessible floor plan will also provide the following 2023 model year options standard:
      • Power rewind reel for the electrical cord (option #L040). This will be the only Bay Star floor plan that offers a power electrical cord reel.
      • Power opening wheelchair door (option #R200).
