As part of October\u2019s National Fire Safety Month, we&#8217;re<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sharing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rvlifemag.com\/rv-fire-prevention-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fire prevention tips<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nirvc.com\/blog\/thia-by-proteng-rv-fire-safety\">fire suppression product<\/a> in an effort to keep RVers safe and sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe\u2019re focused on making RVing as safe and enjoyable as possible, so it\u2019s important for us to address RV fire safety,\u201d says Chuck Lasley, director with NIRVC, who regularly conducts fire safety talks at RV rallies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Top RV Fire Safety Tips<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspect and clean interior, exterior and engine compartments. Remove dirt, grime and debris from under the refrigerator, propane area, battery storage compartments, generator compartment, engine compartment, fuel tank, oil reservoir, hydraulic containers, Aqua Hot\/Oasis system, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pay attention to the electrical \u2013 Look for loose or frayed wires and loose connections\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspect the undercarriage \u2013 Look for dragging, hanging or loose parts\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and test them regularly \u2013 Class A RVs should have at least two (2) detectors<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have at least three (3) fire extinguishers &#8211; including a white fire extinguisher &#8211; and check them regularly.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate extinguishers in the kitchen, bedroom and an outside compartment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s critical to establish and follow a regular inspection and cleaning schedule whenever you\u2019re getting ready to leave for a trip or once you return from a trip,\u201d says Lasley. \u201cIn addition, the importance of an annual service appointment can&#8217;t be overstated because professionals know what to look for and can catch things owners might have missed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><b>RV Fire Suppression Product<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since thousands of RV fires happen each year, NIRVC offers and installs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nirvc.com\/Marketing\/OTR\"><strong>THIA by <\/strong><\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nirvc.com\/Marketing\/OTR\"><strong>Proteng<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a patent-pending, advanced fire suppression system.
